What is Worry?

The definition of worry is: “give way to anxiety or unease; allow one’s mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.” Another, more poignant, definition that I heard the other day is “praying for what you don’t want”. Isn’t that so true! We get so focused on what we don’t want to happen that we actually start subconsciously praying for that outcome.

I used to be so worried that something bad would happen to someone I love, that I would dwell on that horrible outcome. I would fret and fret, if my wife was on a trip and I didn’t hear from her. I would not necessarily have any particular outcome in mind, I would just worry about losing her. I didn’t even pray for a good outcome or ask for angelic help or anything. I was literally subconsciously praying for what I didn’t want.

Over time, and with the help of my spiritual teachers, I began to change that thinking. It took a few years and some realizations along the way, but I am now much more conscious of the energy I am putting out to any situation. I literally ask my Angels and Spirits to help me. I focus on tapping into that unconditional loving energy within me that is God, the Universe, and Spirit. I acknowledge that I am one with God and I am loving God energy. I send that loving energy, in the form of white light, to the situation that I am concerned about. That is my way of knowing that all is well and the outcome will be for the highest good of all concerned.

Many of us “worry” about the world situation and are likely praying for an outcome that we don’t want. Instead of worrying, I choose to acknowledge and tap into that God energy and allow that energy to flow out into the world around me. I keep visualizing it expanding and filling, first my home, then my neighborhood, my town, my county, my state, my country, the Earth, the solar system, the galaxy, all galaxies, until the entire Universe and all parallel Universes are filled with love. I also send this love, in the form of white light, out to those people whom I feel need it most.  Believe it or not, Donald Trump and all of the world leaders are on my list. Our spiritual brothers and sisters who act from a seeming place of fear and hate are parts of our shared selves that need  love the most. I visualize all of this inside of me. I am the Universe. When I know all is within me, it is a lot less daunting.

So, next time you are “worrying”, just ask for help from your Angels and Spirits and acknowledge the God Love within you, and send it to the situation for the highest good of all concerned.
